1. Cleveland Conference - The Cleveland Regional was held on July 15 – 17.
Those of you that attended this event found out first hand, how great it is to
attend one of these events, and get to participate in all of the sessions and
camaraderie with your peers. Those of you that did not get to attend this great
event missed out, to say the least. There were a number of great presentations
by industry leaders and user group leaders, and knowledge and fun was had
by all. The food was fantastic, the friendship even better. Keep watching the
APCUG website for announcements of a conference near you, and make plans
to attend.

In addition to the Cleveland Conference, the APCUG Annual Meeting for 2011
was held on Sunday morning. Various reports were given to the membership.

2. APCUG Contests – The winners of the Newsletter, Website and Photo Contests
were announced at the Cleveland Regional. Each of the winners names and
user groups have been listed in the Contests section of the APCUG website at
www.apcug.net Congratulations to each of the winners.

3. APCUG Survey – In the next few weeks, the President of each member group
will receive a short survey. I would like to urge everyone to participate. APCUG is
in the process of "re-branding" itself, and we need your help is identifying areas
of which we can be of assistance to you. Your Regional Advisors will be there to
help with any questions or concerns, and please do not be afraid to ask for their
assistance. This organization is for you, and only by working together can we
accomplish our goals.

4. Gene Barlow offers Online Presentations - Gene offers two online Skype
presentations: Moving to Windows 7 using Disk Director and Acronis. You
need to have good broadband to host one of his meetings. Contact Linda at
linda@ugr.com to find out what is needed and to get on their schedule.

In addition to Gene's presentations, APCUG offers a number of presentations
tailor made for user group meetings. More information about this can be found at
http://www.apcug.net/speakers/index.htm

5. 2012 FACUG Conference at Sea -. The FACUG Technology Conference

2012 to Friday, January 27, 2012. Again, if any of you have attended either of
the previous 2 conferences, you will remember how much fun and educational it
is. I urge everyone to make plans to attend this event. More info can be found at
www.facug.org

The 2012 APCUG Annual Meeting will be held in conjunction with the FACUG
Technology Conference.

6. Elections – Do you have what it takes to be member of the APCUG Board of
Directors or Board of Advisors? Yes, you do. You have proven it by your
unselfish volunteering for office in your user group. We need people just like you
to help mold the future of the APCUG and the user group community as a whole.
Why not consider running fro one of the various positions in the up-coming
elections. If interested, send your information to elections@apcug or
mvesta@apcug.

8. APCUG Speakers Bureau - we are beginning to teach Speakers Bureau
Presenters how to use iLinc, and if they want to watch any of the training
sessions, or if they would like to watch UG presentations made to other UGs
using this service to sign up on our Opt In list:

Opt-in Mailing List
We have set up a mailing list for people who want to see any
further training sessions on iLinc, or want to watch actual uses
of the tool to do a presentation. If you would like to be on that
list just send an email to webinar-subscribe@apcug.org. It will
immediately send you an email (from webinar-help@apcug.org
if you need to set up your spam protection software to
allow you to see it), and you will need to reply to that email to
confirm that you ant to be on the list. And if you ever get tired
of the emails, andw want them to stop, all you will have to do is
email webinar-unsubscribe@apcug.org, and after confirming
your desire the emails stop, you won't see any more of them.
I would encourage anyone that wants to follow our progress
on iLinc to subscribe to this list. We will be doing additional
promotions elsewhere from time to time, but this list is the
place to be if you want to follow everything we are doing with
this exciting tool.
