UCS Leads Amicus Brief to US Supreme Court
In support of an important climate deception case, UCS led an expert brief filed with the Supreme Court documenting ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy’s concealment and denial of the hazards they knew would result from using their fossil fuel products.

UCS Influence, Advocacy, Lead to Colorado Battery Recycling Win
UCS helped draft Colorado legislation for the strongest EV battery recycling policy in the US and used local media to make the case for its passage; the bill, which will extend the useful life of EV batteries and keep them out of landfills, is now law.
Bill Protecting Federal Scientists Gains Heavy-Hitting Support
After years of UCS advocacy, the Scientific Integrity Act has been reintroduced in the Senate with 21 co-sponsors, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. The legislation would safeguard the rights of scientists working at federal agencies.

A UCS report estimated that animal agriculture was using eight times more antibiotics than were being used to treat humans.

UCS released a report documenting how a costly missile defense system could be overpowered by relatively simple countermeasures.
Led the Way on International Climate Agreements
UCS led a delegation of US nonprofit organizations to the international climate negotiations.
Federal farm subsidies encourage farmers to keep growing more corn and soybeans, even when prices fall. As a result, a large chunk of annual US farm income comes directly from taxpayers.
