Iqra Bachu

Iqra Bachu is the Washington representative for the Clean Transportation program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. Based in Washington, DC, she works with members of Congress and administration officials to advance UCS transportation initiatives, with a focus on sustainable transportation, electrification, and equitable mobility.

Most recently, Iqra served as Senior Manager for Government Affairs at BlueGreen Water Technologies. Previously, she was also the senior advisor to the director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement at the US Department of the Interior.

Her experience includes positions at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and the United States Senate. Iqra holds dual master’s degrees in public policy and environmental policy, planning, and justice from the University of Michigan.
