Kei Koizumi is a Senior Advisor for the Union of Concerned Scientists. A longtime science policy leader, science policy researcher, and social scientist in Washington, DC, he’s also a research professor in international affairs at the George Washington University in the Institute for International Science and Technology Policy.

Mr. Koizumi served as President Biden’s appointee at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in a range of roles, including Special Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Director for Science, Society, and Policy. He was also Acting Executive Director of the National Science and Technology Council. Before that, he served as Senior Advisor for Science Policy at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Mr. Koizumi received his MA in international science and technology policy at the George Washington University and his BA from Boston University in political science and economics.
